If you need help now
You can talk to someone.
If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number — 999 in the UK and Ireland, 911 in the US and Canada, 000 in Australia, 112 across most of Europe.
The Quiet Oracle is a reflection tool. It is not a crisis service, it is not therapy, and it cannot help in an emergency. The people below can, and they are free and confidential.

How we handle crisis language
If a question mentions suicide, self-harm or not wanting to live, The Quiet Oracle does not give a reading. It shows free, confidential helplines instead, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) and Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741). Nothing from that question is kept. Our readers are also instructed to point toward professional support whenever a question touches emotional distress. We review this protocol regularly.
What the Oracle will and won’t do
Readings here are written to be honest. A difficult card is named as difficult and a hard transit is not dressed up as an opportunity, because false comfort is its own kind of dishonesty.
But nothing here predicts your life, diagnoses anything, or decides anything on your behalf. If a reading lands badly on a bad day, that is a reason to talk to a person, not to draw another card.
